Summah, Summah, Summah

“And so with the sunshine and the great bursts of leaves growing on the trees, just as things grow in fast movies, I had that familiar conviction that life was beginning over again with the summer.”
― F.Scott Fitzgerald, The Great Gatsby

It’s here. The little darling showed up….ah, summer….hello, there! Nice to have you back in town!

Summer is fireflies.

And ice cream and popsicles. For lunch.

Too much sand. Everywhere.

The scent of sunscreen and salty air.

Clamcakes and Lobster. Corn on the cob.

Hammocks. Lush, green grass.

Nights with sweatshirts. Long books and reading lists. Beach reads.

Toes on warm sand. Toes digging below to the cool sand.

Summer is the sound of ice cubes clinking in a glass.

It is pools and pink shoulders.

Road trips and when-are-we-going-to-be-theres.

Jumping off of docks, firing up grills and toasting s’mores.

Exploring, adventures, lounging. Lots of lounging…

“Summer afternoon—summer afternoon; to me those have always been the two most beautiful words in the English language.”
― Henry James
