Our boots may still be near the door. Puffy coats may still be at the ready. But look at that calendar over there-it says the magic words….First Day of Spring!
Time to put on the ear muffs, as the sound of rejoicing is sure to deafen us.
Those pesky weathermen even had the cajones to utter the words “there might be a storm next week” on the news last night, but you know what? I heard a peeper yesterday and saw robins on my neighbors’ lawn. That storm can’t threaten us that much (just watch: it will turn out to be the first March Blizzard). Pfffft!
Spring! Even the word suggests good things…movement, a happy vertical dance! Spriiinnnng! Let’s Spring forward into this new season, says the girl named April. Spring and I get along very well, as you can imagine.
Time to watch the daffodils that you bought at the store unfurl. Time to watch for the first crocus (saw it yesterday-a glorious purple one). Time to shave our legs and paint our toenails! We were all beginning to look like Sasquatch. Everything is coming out of hibernation…hallelujah!
And on this first day of Spring and the first day of a new season, I thought it appropriate to give my beloved Daily Frosting a new look. The new girl needed a pick-me-up after the long and arduous winter. Let me know what you think.
Good things ahead…. 🙂
